প্রথমেই নবাগত শিক্ষার্থীদের সিলেট ইঞ্জিনিয়ারিং কলেজ পরিবারে স্বাগতম। আপনারা একটি নতুন অধ্যায়ের শুরু করতে যাচ্ছেন, যেখানে শেখার সুযোগ এবং জীবনের নানা অভিজ্ঞতার দ্বার খুলে যাবে। আপনাদের এই যাত্রায় আমাদের তরফ থেকে প্রতিটি পদক্ষেপে সাফল্য কামনা করি। আপনাদের ভবিষ্যত উজ্জ্বল হবে, এটাই আমাদের বিশ্বাস!

সিভিল ইঞ্জিনিয়ারিং একটি অত্যন্ত গুরুত্বপূর্ণ ও ভবিষ্যত-ভিত্তিক ক্ষেত্র, যা আধুনিক বিশ্বের অবকাঠামো এবং সমাজের উন্নয়নে ব্যাপক ভূমিকা রাখে। এই বিভাগের কাজ শুধু সেতু বা ভবন নির্মাণের মধ্যে সীমাবদ্ধ নয়, বরং সমগ্র সমাজের জীবনযাত্রাকে উন্নত করতে, নিরাপদ করতে এবং টেকসই ভবিষ্যত গড়তে সহায়ক।

আমাদের সিভিল ইঞ্জিনিয়ারিং বিভাগ প্রতিনিয়ত তার সাফল্যের জন্য খ্যাতি অর্জন করছে। শিক্ষার্থীরা বিভিন্ন জাতীয় এবং আন্তর্জাতিক প্রতোযোগীতায় অংশগ্রহণ করছে এবং নিজেদের দক্ষতার প্রমাণ দিচ্ছে। IIT Bombay তে পোস্টার প্রেজেন্টেশন এ ২য় রানার আপ, Duet, Iut তে Truss competition একই সাথে চ্যাম্পিয়ন এবং রানারআপ উল্লেখযোগ্য সাফল্য । অনেক প্রাক্তন শিক্ষার্থী আজ বিসিএস সহ সরকারি বেসরকারি বেশ বড় বড় প্রতিষ্ঠানগুলোতে দায়িত্ব পালন করছে যেমন বাংলাদেশ পেট্রোলিয়াম কমিশন, বাংলাদেশ পানি উন্নয়ন বোর্ড, ঢাকা ট্রান্সপোর্ট কো অর্ডিনেশন অথরিটি, বাংলাদেশ ক্রীড়া শিক্ষা প্রতিষ্ঠান অন্যতম। এছাড়া উল্লেখযোগ্য সংখ্যক ছাত্র-ছাত্রীর বিভিন্ন দেশে বিদেশের বিভিন্ন বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ে উচ্চশিক্ষা গ্রহনের সুযোগ অর্জন করছে। প্রাক্তন শিক্ষার্থীদের অনেকে রিসার্চ এসিস্ট্যান্ট (RA) এবং দেশের বিভিন্ন বেসরকারি বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় এর শিক্ষক হিসেবে দ্যায়িত্ব পালন করে যাচ্ছে। তারা তাদের কাজের মাধ্যমে সিভিল ইঞ্জিনিয়ারিং একটি উজ্জ্বল ভবিষ্যত গড়ে তোলার পথে এগিয়ে যাচ্ছে।

তত্ত্বের বাস্তব প্রয়োগ, প্রায়োগিক দক্ষতা অর্জন, গবেষণা এবং উন্নয়ন এর উদ্দেশ্যে আমাদের ডিপার্টমেন্ট এ ভালো মানের বেশ কিছু ল্যাব রয়েছে। ল্যাবগুলো:

সিভিল ডিপার্টমেন্ট এ প্রত্যেকে বছর সিভিল ডে পালন করা হয় যেখানে শিক্ষার্থীদের মধ্যে বিভিন্ন সেগমেন্ট এর কন্টেস্ট এর আয়োজন করা হয় এবং শিক্ষার্থীদের অন্য প্রতিযোগিতার জন্য প্রস্তুত করা হয়। খুব দ্রুতই জাতীয় ভাবে সিভিল ডে এর আয়োজন করা হবে৷ সোসাইটির পক্ষ থেকে বিভিন্ন সেমিনার, ওয়ার্কশপ, স্কিল ডেভেলপমেন্ট এবং সাইট ভিজিট এর ব্যবস্থা করা হয়। যা শিক্ষার্থীদের মান উন্নয়ন এ বেশ সহায়তা করে।

প্রিন্সিপাল, ডিপার্টমেন্ট হেড, শিক্ষকবৃন্দ, সিভিল সোসাইটি, এলামনাই সকলের পরিশ্রম এবং দক্ষতায় সুনামের সহিত এগিয়ে যাচ্ছে আমাদের ডিপার্টমেন্ট। ভবিষ্যতে আরো উন্নয়ন এবং খ্যাতি অর্জন এর মাধ্যমে আরো এগিয়ে যাবে সিভিল ইঞ্জিনিয়ারিং ডিপার্টমেন্ট ইনশাআল্লাহ।

First of all, we warmly welcome the newly admitted students to the Sylhet Engineering College family. You are about to begin a new chapter in life, one filled with opportunities to learn and experience new things. We wish you success in every step of this journey and believe that your future will be bright!

Civil Engineering is a highly significant and future-oriented field that plays a vital role in developing modern infrastructure and society. The work of this department is not limited to constructing bridges or buildings—it also helps improve the quality of life, ensure safety, and build a sustainable future.

Our Civil Engineering Department is constantly earning recognition for its achievements. Students are actively participating in various national and international competitions and showcasing their skills. Notable accomplishments include becoming 2nd runner-up in a poster presentation at IIT Bombay, champion and runner-up positions in Truss competitions at DUET and IUT. Many of our alumni are now serving in top government and private organizations such as the Bangladesh Petroleum Commission, Bangladesh Water Development Board, Dhaka Transport Coordination Authority, and the Bangladesh Institute of Sports Education. Additionally, a significant number of students are pursuing higher education at various international universities. Several alumni are currently working as Research Assistants (RA) and as faculty members in private universities across the country. They are contributing towards building a bright future in the field of Civil Engineering.

To ensure practical application of theory, hands-on skills, and research and development, our department offers several high-quality laboratories:

Each year, the Civil Department celebrates Civil Day, which includes various contests among students and prepares them for other competitions as well. A national-level Civil Day event will be organized soon. The Civil Society also arranges seminars, workshops, skill development programs, and site visits—all of which significantly contribute to student development.

With the hard work and expertise of the Principal, Department Head, faculty members, Civil Society, and alumni, our department is progressing with great reputation. In the future, Insha’Allah, the Department of Civil Engineering will advance further with more development and recognition.
